Functions: Personio Assistant (chat on HR data such as holiday entitlement, payroll, documents, metrics; optional connectors e.g. Confluence, Google Drive), AI Performance Summaries (summarisation of feedback/reviews), AI Summaries in Analytics, Talent Screening Agent (automated screening of applications with Pass/Fail/Partial/Undetermined signals), AI-assisted payslip scanning, AI-assisted employee data import (model: Amazon). According to the documentation, the remaining features use models from Anthropic.
Provider’s statement: Personio: the Assistant is said to be a "Limited Risk AI system" under the EU AI Act, not a high-risk system; Personio states it does not build its own LLM and is therefore not subject to the GPAI provider obligations. The Talent Screening Agent is said to comply with GDPR Art. 22 and EU AI Act Art. 14; Personio is said to be the provider and the organisation the deployer, with obligations regarding the selection of criteria, human involvement in every decision, and employment/anti-discrimination law. Note in the documentation: disclose the use of the Talent Screening Agent on the careers page.
Classification (for review, not legal advice): For review: customer is a deployer (Art. 3(4)). AI for selecting/evaluating applicants and for performance evaluation is to be reviewed as a high-risk use case under Annex III point 4 (employment) (Art. 26 deployer obligations, Art. 50(1) for interaction with persons).
